The Places journal website is highlighting a photographic portfolio and essay on the High Line from winter 2011. Joel Sternfeld took the photos, and I wrote the essay with Hugh Hardy. We were the first to publish Joel’s photographs and like to think we played a tiny, tiny role in bringing attention to this place.
