This map of downtown Raleigh is more than is appears. Created by artist in residence Andre Leon Grey, this map demonstrates the rich history of the city. Marked by an acorn, each location on the map is representative of a story that is important to the Black community in Raleigh. Embedded in the acorn is a photo that is representative of the story: a person, place, or thing that provides a glimpse into the story to be told.
