The Past Supporting the Future, a towering mural that covers the upper half of the west wall of the 21-story Crane Community Center, has become an instant landmark. The towering work elebrates both the tenacity of Philadelphia Chinatown’s existence and the promise for a thriving future.

Bressi served as curatorial advisor to Mural Arts Philadelphia and Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation for this project, which was developed under the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority’s Percent for Art Program. Bressi was the point person for obtaining the PRA’s approval for pursuing a mural project and led a national artist selection process.
